Once you know you want to move forward, I'll send you an electronic contract. After you sign and pay the 50% retainer, you're golden. For payment, I accept cash, check, PopMoney, Quickpay or Venmo. It is 2019 after all.
(Property rights, your grandmother's jewels, and souls of first-borns are accepted on a limited basis.)
Do you travel for weddings? What are your travel fees?
Absolutely. While I work primarily from Boston and Chicago, past destination spots have included Vermont, Maine, California, Oregon, Louisiana and New York, and Miami, with Denver upcoming. Wherever you go, I'll follow. Domestic destinations (not including Boston/Chicago) carry no travel fees, but do not include second shooters (can be added at an additional cost). International destinations require 4 nights lodging and flights from Boston.
Can we count on you?
Without question. I care too deeply about my clients and my reputation to chance a disaster. My contract includes stipulations for emergencies, and every package includes an experienced, reliable second photographer, who is briefed on the timeline and shot plan for the day. If worse comes to worst, and I get hit by a meteor, you're covered.
Additionally, all photos taken are dual stored in memory cards and offloaded onto my computer and two back up hard drives the same night of your wedding. This insures that if a card corrupts or a drive fails, your photos are safe and sound.
What kind of equipment do you use? Do you have backup equipment?
I shoot with two Nikon DSLRs and a stable of prime lenses. Depending on the venue and lighting throughout the day, I may also utilize on or off camera flashes. If something breaks, I always have a backup.
What does location scouting mean?
For every shoot I do, I physically visit each photo location ahead of time to gameplan portrait and candid shots. This guarantees that come wedding day, there are no surprises and we can operate efficiently and minimize stress.
Will I get to keep my photos? What about printing?
I believe that what you pay for you should receive. Following your engagement or wedding, you'll receive a digital gallery with all the original resolution edited files, available to download. These are the highest res possible, unmarked, and all yours to print/share to your hearts' content.

I do! Album design is included in the album price. You can either select your photos, or trust me to select the most relevant photos. After the initial design, you'll receive a full proof for approval, before it's sent to the printer.
Do you use a second shooter? What does a second shooter do?
All my packages include a second shooter. Aside from providing peace of mind in case I get hit by a meteor, a second shooter also provides coverage in separately located bride and groom preparation, alternative angles during the ceremony and reception, and candids during cocktail hour while we shoot our portraits. All my second shooters run their own businesses and are seasoned professionals.
Do you offer engagement photos with your wedding collections?
A session is the best way for us to familiarize, giving you an excellent opportunity to unlearn how you've been taught to take photographs and become familiar with my approach so come the big day, you won't bat an eye. A 75 minute session is included with all wedding packages.
What should we expect with an engagement shoot?
I keep my shoots relaxed and casual, and I keep your focus on one another. Many clients come out of the session feeling as though the shoot was just a lovely hour of hanging out with their S.O.
How many images will we receive?
For a normal 10 hour day, you can expect around 1200 images, including black and white edits. For a 75 minute engagement, around 100 images.
When is the best time of day to shoot?
The best time of day depends on the environment you'd like to shoot in. Want a casual beach session? Let's go sunset. A stroll downtown? The harsh afternoon light brings out the best of the architecture.
How long until we get our photos?
Turnaround for engagements is guaranteed 3 business days, usually 2. Weddings are delivered within a month, with sneak peeks within a week. Expedited 10 day turnaround is available.
Wedding photography seems a bit pricey. What are we getting for it?
This is a question so many people have, and it's an important one. Weddings are expensive endeavors and you want to make sure you're getting quality within your budget.
What's important to remember is that my job doesn't begin or end on your wedding day. Before you even get your wedding morning coffee, I've spent a couple days traveling to and scouting your ceremony/portrait/reception locations, researching lighting, and shooting and editing your engagement. This batch of to-dos normally takes 4-8 hours. After the lights come on following the DJs last song (Queen's "Dont' Stop Me Now" is a personal fave), I'll spend 4-5 hours that night off-loading photos and making back-ups. The next day, 6-10 hours of culling. Then, over however many days comes anywhere from 8-20 hours of editing and touch-ups, uploading, gallery design and delivery. All together? 22-43 hours of specialized work outside of your wedding day coverage.
Add to those hours the necessary insurance policies, equipment maintenance, cloud space/physical file backups, second shooter expenses, gallery and software subscriptions, other package inclusions, etc, that are so important to guaranteeing you a positive, exceptional and secure product, and that at-a-glance package cost suddenly makes a bit more sense.
What is a “First Look”?
A first look is a private 5 minutes of time before the ceremony where you and your S.O. can see each other for the first time. Some people hold to the tradition of seeing each other for the first time at the altar, but more and more are choosing the opportunity to have time, away from the bustle and chaos of the day, to share a moment before embarking.
How far in advance should we book for our wedding?
Spots fill up fast, and I only book 25 weddings a year, to ensure that every client has my utmost attention. Most couples book between a year and two years out. Don't be discouraged though if that isn't you. Shoot me a message and we'll see what we can do!
